Inner Narratives, Quiet Contemplation
Lucia Mondadori (b.1981) is a Brazilian ceramic artist based between Paris and South America. Her sculptural work explores the symbolic resonance of organic forms to express human narratives and the sacred in nature.
In her distinctive language of rounds and curves, Lucia harmonises brut stoneware and refined glaze work. Her pieces emerge as voluptuous forms - sometimes totemic, invariably serene - each telling its own story through form and texture.
Lucia’s practice is a quiet celebration of sensory experience and femininity - both intimately lived and gently observed. Her work blends functionality, aesthetic beauty and a sense of the sacred, creating pieces that transcend utility to become vessels of meaning and contemplation.

Rooted in emotion and earth
Text by Carolien Depamelaere for Imagicasa Antwerp
“Lucia Mondadori is a Brazilian-born ceramic artist based in Paris whose sculptural practice explores the poetic tension between rawness and refinement. Her pieces emerge from the meeting point between nature, memory, and form — resulting in objects that seem unearthed rather than made, inviting a quiet sense of presence. Working primarily in high-fired stoneware, the artist shapes contemplative vases, totems, and vessels that appear both grounded and ethereal. Every curve and surface holds the trace of the hand, offering a deeply tactile experience that resists the slick uniformity of industrial design.

Sessun Creative Talk with Lucia Mondadori
Lucia Mondadori grew up in a natural and artistic environment that deeply nourished her creative vision. After a rich and eclectic career in graphic design, literature and cinema, she turned to ceramics in Paris, which she views as the perfect balance between art and craft. Through her sculptural vases and totems, she explores organic forms inspired by nature and the human body, seeking to preserve an intimate, tactile bond with the earth. In her Paris workshop, she shapes each piece with meticulous precision, driven by the conviction that craftsmanship is both an act of anchoring the present moment and being in harmony.
